A seniors couple left their 13-year-old dachshund tied outside the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter with an intriguing note.
In the note the owners request to have their dog put to sleep since they could no more manage to take him to the vet, buy medicines for his skin condition and more.

After the story went viral and all over the news, the dog owners came forward and described their condition. True enough, they are both sick and find it difficult to make ends meet. One of the owners, whose name was not disclosed, mentioned, “We are living week to week. We can’t even go to the hospital to get our treatment.”
Despite the fact that the owners got criticisms about their decision, they still opted to come ahead and coordinated with the organization. A post on the organization’s Facebook page read, “I was in tears when I realized that their love for this darling little man outweighed their fear of what people may say about them and I knew instantly, our decision to try to reunite Otto Wolfgang Maximum (the dog’s real name) with his humans was the right decision!”
